Don't want to be that "dude", but suggest you try the search function on this forum. This topic's been covered quite a few times & quite good advice has been typed out (from others & myself). Let us know if you find nothing.

In summary, very much similar to other cars of that age, but pay attention to:
Transmission notches/crunches
Overheating (could be due to multiple issues)
Rust, excessively leaking targe tops etc

Be thorough when test driving & check/note everything.

It also pays to check the front bumper for signs of repair, it's fairly common for these to get backed into in carparks as they are so low that reversing driver don't see them. My car has a dodgy front bumper repair from a similar incident and didn't have the reinforcement bar replaced. The air con condenser also has a curve in it, but fortunately still works fine, the radiator was untouched. I managed to source a new front reo bar, and reassembled the front bumper correctly, so at least its safe now.
Bad repairs done by insurance companies to get the car sale-able are worth looking for. Checking underneath the car thoroughly, making sure all the plastic undertray guards are in place is a good start. I looked at quite a few MR2's before i bought mine, and took photos of them all (underneath, under the frunk, in the engine bay etc) so it was pretty easy to see what they should look like. I discovered the bumper front repair on mine before i bought it (and the fact that the reo bar was missing) which allowed me to knock the price down a bit more.
