Hello all,
It's been a while since I finally got around to putting a new post forward but I thought I'd start by giving a brief list of great places to order MR2 MK1 parts.

So here we go:
1. TOYOTA: Sadly on this one, Australia has a few lazy Toyota dealers but thankfully it also has a few extraordinary dealers.  When your looking for parts, the best thing you can do, is rock up with the actual factory part numbers as this can save you a lot of time and nonsense. However if you get a particular dealer who gives you a pretty quick, 'sorry not available' line.  Try a couple more, I've often been surprised how some dealerships parts departments don't seem to be able to give me what I'm after, while others go out of there way and can order it from Japan if required.  Essentially, don't give up, you will be surprised.
CONTACT: Come on guys, you should know where your local Toyota dealers are.

2. Paul Sims: A 2nd hand dealer based in the UK.  Despite the cost of postage these days, Paul is an excellent source for obtaining a lot of the harder to find body parts and door parts.  I've often been impressed with Paul's quick and speedy service over the years.  Be warned, these are 2nd hand parts and as such will not rock up looking shiny and new(some even require minor repairs), you'll have to put the time in, to make them look flash, but if your like me and like to keep your MK1 nice and original looking, cleaning up a 2nd hand part is a small price to pay for having that great classic original look.

3. Neil Jones: Terrific seller.  Look you may pay a touch more from Neil, but his parts are excellent.  He really does care about quality and has no problem taking a photo etc to show you.  Like Paul, Neil is based in the UK.  I've often found when no one else has the body part I've been after, Neil will have it. Again, please note these are 2nd hand parts.

4.Twos R Us: This is one of the most fantastic little companies out there.  It's a web based online shop run by a car club enthusiast in the US and features some terrific hard to find brand new items.  They also produce brand new re-productions of obsolete trims and parts from time to time.  If your window has that failing winder, these guys have one of the only re-production replacement gears available on the market(it's also a well made nylon gear that will not ruin your window mechanism like metal replacement units if the window jams).  You can even get brand new key blanks from Twos R Us along with all trimming kits for every panel and part on the car that requires trim.  Alas they only take direct deposit from overseas buyers at this stage so you will have to let your bank know when your doing a transfer so they can add them to your accepted purchasing list. Otherwise they will think someones trying to access your account from overseas and lock you out(trust me on that one). They also have a host of engine parts and kits to keep your MR2 MK1 running well(also MK2 and MK3's).
CONTACT:

5. AutoParts Warehouse:  This US based company has a lot of bits and pieces for your MR2, they were handy when I needed a replacement O2 sensor for my MK1.  Be aware I've read reports of some items being offered, not being in stock, so you may want to quiz them before placing an order if you don't want delays and do beware of the horrendous postal costs these days from the states.

6. MR2 Ben: Handy for odds and sods new parts.  Based in the UK so be prepared for the inevitable postage cost.

7. Toyota's R Us:  An Australian Toyota 2nd hand dealer that resides in Melbourne.  SOMETIMES, they have MR2 parts available:

8. T & N MR2 MK1 CAR PARTS:  Terrific online based web shop that offers many of the very hard to find decals to spruce up your MR2 MK1(including boot release and fuel flap release decals for your levers. Yes I do like to keep EVERYTHING looking as new as possible).  They also stock a lot of the clips for interior trim, boot and bonnet included(best of all there brand new clips).  A great source for the little extra's that you will not find from other dealers or even Toyota.  Drop Tony a line if your after that something special for your MK1, he restores MK1's.
CONTACT:

9. NENGUN: If your into the whole modding and performance by ruining your original look deal then perhaps you might like this dealer but they also stock add on parts that will not ruin your original look.
CONTACT:

10. IMPORT CAR PARTS: Alas another UK based company, they do seem to have a good supply of engine parts etc(however please do yourselves a favour and get the genuine Toyota articles before going this route.  Most engine and gearbox parts are still available directly from Toyota).

Well there's 10 of the best, please do share any other sources you may have come across in your travels.  There the best I've found in my 4 years of ownership so far.

I'll begin signing off now by showing some companies to be very careful with: and
These are normally just front ends that may or may not have stock.  I've read several posts where people have waited months for no show with the actual parts.  My strongest advice is to contact them and make certain they actually have what there quoting prices on.  Very often they have a pile of catalogue numbers with prices, but no actual stock.  There's nothing more annoying that waiting forever to save that $10 or $12, at the end of the day, you'll just be wishing you'd paid the extra knowing you'll actually get the part.  Generally if Toyota themselves can't source you the part your looking for then the chances are these guys will not be able to either.

Finally good luck in your parts searching.  You may have noticed I have not listed ebay as a source for parts.  The main reason here is that while it used to be a good place to find parts, it's become a not so great place, with not as much listed as it used to be a few years ago, featuring mainly covers and nick nacks you can get anywhere.  The cost of postage and ebays added fee's for sellers who deal through the postage program has begun to make purchasing car parts through ebay prohibitive. Don't get me wrong, it's worth checking out occasionally but sadly it's just not the great place to shop it used to be.

Again, do share if you know some great Toyota MR2 MK1 parts sources and I hope this helps other enthusiasts to get there own pride and joy back to sweet status.

All the greatest,
Sean.

In all honesty I don't know all the rules but for some reason I don't seem to be able to post website links?

I'll try posting the article again:

For genuine Toyota parts (AW11) I use North Shore Toyota in New Zealand and Amayama in Japan/UAE.
Easily half the price of Toyota Oz including shipping.

I think of used almost all of those listed above as well. Neil Jones is a good bloke and has almost all standard common parts.

Terrific Post, thank you.

So that's another 2 sources:
AMAYAMA:  I'll be sure to check it out, features warehouses around the globe and actual parts search available.
CONTACT: http://www.amayama.com/

NORTH SHORE TOYOTA NZ: It's crazy that Australia has higher prices on parts when we actually manufacture Toyota's right here(well at least till 2016 if the government doesn't do anything to help the situation which is unlikely), than our neighbour?
CONTACT: http://www.northshoretoyota.co.nz/

Please do keep adding more fellow enthusiasts,
Sean.
