hi,

I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but anyways.

Can anyone explain whether u can fix a repairable write off mr2 spyder, but change parts of the car from oem.

I am thinking of putting a 2gr-fe engine in and wonder if you can do it and get the vehicle legally registered.
Does a repairable write off vehicle have to be brought back to OEM spec? or can u change the engine, body pannels etc.

If anyone knows, let me know.

Thanks

If you are in NSW repairable Write off cannot be reregistered unless it meets a few strict critereas. Basicaly they are All stat write offs. They can be taken interstate and fixed though. I think the 2gr would be fine as long as it was engineered.

I live in QLD, so registering it is ok. I will get a mechanic to do the job, but its just that i have yet to hear anyone do this before and am worried about it.

You should wait till the car passes the wovr inspection first. Then go nuts on the motor. I am doing a 2gr conversion at the moment as well. Did you buy the red car from pickles?
