Duke of Shazzard?

HAHAHA.
Good meet tonight.  Altho try as they did, it couldn't be fixed.  Went for a drive.  Stopped a couple of times.  One for only 2 minutes.  I'm sure they just wanted to see me jump out & back in again.
Ah well, off to the panel beater tomorrow, to see if he can do something.

Before you spend money at a panel beater try this!

> Pull out the door handle and undo cup screw
> From here you should be able to feel if the plastic door lever is connected to the metal door opener rod (I assume it wont be)
> Pull the rod with pliers and the door should open unless you have a serious problem
> Once doors open take off the door trim and find your problem
> Have a beer because a sixteen year old teenager most likely just saved your money from a panel beater

still gotta do the Dukes of Hazard climb in & out.
Panel Beater managed to move the trim/card so that he could see inside the door.  Can't work out quickly what is the problem & he ran out of time.  But at least someone else might be able to see in there & see what the problem is.  He thinks it might be the lock itself.
He didn't charge me anything either.

Talked to the mechanic she is going to tomorrow, thinking they probably wouldn't want her in that state, but said they would climb in to move her to the workshop, etc.

Seems to be the latch not letting go. Lock is working fine. Rods moving all ok. :-(

Just did some more googling of "mr2 stuck door" and found this.
Sounds like the exact problem, but still doesn't really tell me how to get the door open.

Hopefully the mechanic will get time to have a go while he's got her there fixing the oil leak.

Thanks Red.
She's been at mechanic to get oil leak fixed.  They said if they had time they'd have a look at the door.  Unfortunately they didn't have time.

Try disconnecting the battery, then use the key to unlock the door, then try to open it.  Without power the door should be just like any other car door.

If that doesn't work then something is broken or fallen off inside.  The little plastic end to the locking or opening link the most likely cause.
