Hey guys, I am new here.
I own a aw11 with a 4ageu.
Recently i have had bogging down between 3,800rpm and 5,500rpm.
The car came with a standard Bigport with limited edition blown head gasket, this meant I replaced with a smallport (removing T-VIS)
Drove for a few weeks and was infinately better, then began to bog down and threw afm code, replaced air flow meter (second hand). Was better but not perfect. Just recently began bogging down to the extent that when I join a main road I pick the lane with 50m of free space.

Aw11's have expensive parts, to swap in a working AFM or ECU would allow me to diagnose what is at fault.

Is there anyone on this forum familiar with the aw11 engine or have parts in Adelaide that I could borrow for a few hours. I would love to get to the bottom of this, even if it ment converting to a more common type ecu and sensor set. Or r1 carbs..

Thanks Scott for showing me this place.

On another note I have replaced the fuel pump and filter recently as well as tested fuel pressure, the AFM was througly cleaned with CRC AFM cleaner and the throttle body removed and cleaned, exhaust has been removed to rule out blockages, intake was fitted after being cleaned thougly.
Possibly at fault is the ECU, worn capacitors/ other malfunction. AFM faulty. Possible the air and or coolant temp sensor is faulty. O2 sensor (although runs worse when un-plugged). Could be the dizzy is too worn giving stupid advance under certain rpm. Might be TPS giving bat**** readings to ECU in conjunction with AFM failure.

As you can see it is getting hard to cross these from the list without replacing them and throwing the $$ at it. ECU test fit from petroject is $125 (trade price)

Plan is to buy carbs below. And use with 4k dizzy with custom manifold and dizzy plate.

End of head ache, I love carburettors.

dunno if this would help, but what about fuel filter? I once had a silvia with a BADLY blocked fuel filter. The car would bog down if you try to floor it at about 4k.

I have replaced the filter twice, first when I got the car and a couple of weeks ago when I replaced the fuel pump. I just bought a set of mikuni CV carburettors from a fireblade. I will most likely get rid of the efi system after I have carbs running reliably.

Sounds possibly like an advance problem. Have you checked the dizzy out?

The dizzy could be at fault, I have no way of checking it. What would you recommend?

Most good tuning shops will have a distributor test rig.
