hi all has any one else had this problem ,my cv will not move at all removed the big nut and ive destroyed one puller ,then i tried a hydraulic puller and a little heat from the oxy but to no avail
thinking of pulling whole shaft from motor and taking to with a press '
i dont want to damage th threads as there is nothing wrong with the cv's i just want to replace wheel bearing as there is some free play to be felt in them

You have remove the ball joint from the hub as well?

If you remove the whole shaft from the trans you will also need to drain the trans oil, partly anyway.
No big deal to remove it, and this could be a good option because you would need to take the hub to a pro workshop to get the new bearing fitted anyway because it's a PITA to press the old bearing out and the new one in your self.
They could do the lot for you

Yeh, ive had a driveshaft fuse itself to the hub before. Much heat from an oxy and in a hyd press got it out after hrs, but yeh, fortunately i was fitting new hubs anyway, but needed new outer cv.

Sometimes its just that bad and may not be any easy way for it to come out.

I have changed more cv shafts than i care to remember and the bearings are fairly easy
but i have never had one so so stuck ,  and yes i had the ball joint undone and free .My next attemt will be to take it to work and put it up on the hoist ,drop the hub n cv out from the gear box and set up on the press
