Just found out that there is a over 15 yr rule and the insurance company said I can put on the road again.

Shannons did not put the car on the write off register. As it is over 15yrs old.

But does the bent chassis rail still makes it dodgy to make roadworthy ?

No.. what he is saying, is basisly he can have it repaired, & then just go into motor reg & pick up the rego from where it last was.   No need for engineering certs etc.  It doesnt even need to go over the pits. (as there is nothing written against the vehicle, eg.. written off / Stat etc).
 
 

Good news this car will be repaired SA Chassis can fix it up. Just brought a front nose clip and guard. I am putting back on the road as a daily / Track car.
