Im looking for a rooted CT20b for rebuild, condition doesnt matter. Internals will be discarded so if its missing a wheel or anything it doesnt matter. Anyone got one?

How do you tell the difference between them, I can’t remember been to long since I’ve played with them.
I have a turbo on a spare gen3 that’s got a pit of shaft play

The comp housing has toyota written on it (as opposed to toyota ct26) and the dump pipe side flange has 7 holes rather than 6 on the ct26

How to know what it is ct26 or ct20 etc, Exhaust housing has the model code stamped on it, 740XX the XX tells you what turbo it is.

74010 for single entry ST165 All-trac
74020 for twin entry Ceramic CT26
74030 for twin entry Inconel CT26
74040 for twin entry Ceramic CT20B
74080 for twin entry the steel shaft CT20B from the ST205 WRC
42010 for singe entry Supra CT26

Tony, very helpful information. I think you missed the bit where internals will be discarded. Ct20b's are good donor housings for full gtx3071r cores and wheels, without having to run rubbish flange adapters. A bit of porting for the wastgate entry and opening up of the wastegate ports is required, but it is one of the best and cheapest ways to get a good turbo on an sw20.

My comment is my opinion of based on my knowledge of cost vs outcome. If you want to share details of recommended purchase price of a ct20 donor, your supplier of gtx3071r cores (ball-bearing or journal copies) and costs, including machining the core, that might help everyone gain the "best and cheapest ways to get a good turbo on an sw20"
