It will run for a bit when you turn the car on but then will stop if its just sitting there.
20 seams ok
If it was the TPS (throttle position sensor) you turned it will need to be reset.
Is the 1100 rpm when its cold or warm? The accelerate cable cable could also be to tight and holding the throttle open.

The throttle stop screw (small hex head threaded rod) might also have been over adjusted keeping the throttle butterfly open more then it should be.
Probably a good idea to follow the bgb to set the TPS, stop screw and idle screw to factory calibrated positions and see where that leaves you.

Vac of 20 seems pretty normal. Some people see 21 or 22 as well.

All sorted except on what to check for the power steering pump continously running, there is fluid and power, however continuously runs.  Tried unplugging and cleaning the ECU contacts.  Does anyone know about power steering? sensors for speed or turning the wheel or anything....

Glad you got some more issues sorted.
You should update this thread with what you did to solve the idle and boost issues. It might help current and future owners solve similar issues.

Hi All,

So UPDATE.... after buying a 1993 MR2 Turbo unseen, replacing countless parts (still needing more), replacing bolts galore (missing and destroyed) this is what I have learnt....

1.  No boost - after high pressure washing on a hoist.  The problem came from the wastegate and actuator, there is a rod that had lost its connection.

2. Power steering is unsolved, finding out there is a speed sensor that communicated to the power steering ECU and a torque steering column sensor.  This is still a mystery.

3. Height of MR2 was found on a website www.carinf.com Listing details of the MR2 including stock height with the lowest point of the car at 130mm high and the vehicle height of 1240mm.

4. M80 Car alarm needs to be finished tomorrow.  Immobilizer circuit 1 has 2 sets of dual wires.  Closer look at the instruction manual explains it further, however planning to get a Car Alarm installer to finish the wiring.

Thank you to all the help with info and parts.

More to do to make the car back to good condition.... next is avcr, turbo smart boost fcd (get it running at its best)... future months to then re-trimming the interior, respray the paint...

I will post all my learnings once I have the car on the road as there have been many ....

New issues with the inner cv joint jamming up.  The inner cv joint on the drivers side has poped the bearings out once and after putting back together then started making the clunking noise and I stopped before it gets worse.  I cant find if there is a particular way to put the CV joint back together, being in Mildura there is no specialised help unless its for a truck or tractor.

Any suggestions to fix is always is greatly appreciated.

Once I have the car on the road, from VIC to QLD and seen by a professional, I will post all the joys of fixing the car.
