Hey guys,
It's time for me to get project cars out of my life. I'm going back to uni this month and have been unemployed since December, so I just can't afford to run an old car at the moment and the money would be lovely for my uni stuff. I haven't really got many photos at the moment, but suffice it to say, this is still a project car. I will put up photos soon. Below is my honest appraisal of the car
The car
1991 SW20
Red
Targa top
Just over 200000kms.
Pod filter with a little enclosure made
Exhaust system
New headunit, front speakers, amp + 8" sub behind the passenger seat.
Federal 595 all around, with about 5000k's on them. Plenty of tread left.
Rego until the 9th of July 2014
Infinity number of gauges in the dash (
Disclaimer: I did not install these and they are currently unplugged)Momo steering wheel
I bought the car with front end damage, looked like a car with a towball had hit the front in the centre. The condensor was leaking and the bar which holds up the front bar was also damaged, so it doesn't have air conditioning and will require a condensor to get it to work. I bought a new front bar and support off a member of this forum and repainted the bonnet and head light covers (which were painted an awful black in spraycan special), the front bar, drivers side quarter panel, the rear wing and the panel on the drivers side of the engine.
The previous owner obviously didn't love maintainance, but I haven't had any problems with the car actually driving around. Since I have owned it (7 months), it has had new plugs, 2 oil/filter changes, new diff/gbox oil, rear pads, completely rad flush, new thermostat installed and a new battery. Never overheats, is pretty good on petrol. The gearbox seems fine, 3rd gear is a tiny bit sticky when cold, but it doesn't crunch at all. It came with four blown shocks, but I have since replaced these with newer n/a fronts w/ lowered springs and the Bilsteins out of a 95 turbo for the rear. The front suspension knocks a bit, but I can't see any leaks and the car handles just fine. I also replaced the clutch master cylinder There were a few other small things required for me to blue slip the car. I have targa shades, but they are grey and don't match the interior colour. The rest of the interior is in pretty average condition, with some trim coming loose. I don't really care about these things, so never bothered fixing it. Most would just require a bit of time and effort to fix. Also the rear lights were 'smoked' but it just looks awful. They need to be replaced or cleaned
At the moment, the car is in Parramatta due to a suspected rear wheel bearing issue. I will be fixing that ASAP
With the car, I will chuck in the brand new exedy clutch that I bought, and another spare clutch master cylinder. I don't know how much longer this clutch has left, but it hasn't slipped while I have owned the car.
I'm not looking for a lot of money, but have no real idea of what these are actually worth these days.
Lets say $3000 as a starting point, but I will take reasonable offers.
I am contactable via PM or my email (cameronjpascoe at gmail.com).
This is the only picture I have, just after I had finished painting and putting the car back together. Car still needs to be properly cut and polished for the paint to really come up properly.
