I've bought a few things from Road and Track now and my experience buying parts from them so far have been great! Our car club is a minority (but not that small hehe) meaning parts availability may not be as common as other popular cars but Road and Track seem to have most uncommon parts and in stock. Price on genuine stuff is good as well, matched or cheaper than my Toyota dealer's prices. Although Two's R Us is another good source for parts, shipping costs are a bit overkill and delivery times must be considered.

I have also had good dealings with Terry & co at Road & Track. I am happy to recomend them to others.

Terry has a lot of knowledge about MR2's, he knows them inside out upside down, especially anything to do with V6 conversions and is always happy to help. i wouldnt buy engine mounts from anywhere else other than road and track. 

Good for parts but thats it, I'll give them that. I wouldn't leave my car with them if they were the last workshop on the planet.

My 2GR V6 4-6 weeks quoted build took 5 months and this was at least the second such build they did. Lots of next week, next week emails and phone calls. I'm a slow learner. The first one took around 5 months too. Rushed in the end to get it out by Christmas. Delivered with the race seat bolted through tinplate floor with no reinforcement plates or washers (I'll speak to the young guy who put the seat in), incorrect (too long and not enough thread) exhaust bolts loose (no comment); stripped thread in the chassis rail (rear cross member bolt finger tight only) (Can't berate the guy who fitted the crossmember, he has left us), rear cross brace not fitted (seniors moment). No surprise I suppose that I would echo Stuka's sentiments.

I deal with R&T purely for parts on my 20V since they stock them and have reasonable pricing.
However, I personally seen cars that have been "built" at R&T and have seen all the faults and missing parts (stolen $250 WB02), despite premium prices having been paid to the "MR2 Experts".

What would cause that sort of contamination?

I just had my engine fully rebuilt and r&t they seem to do a pretty professional job and they were good to deal with... Despite a small oil leak but thAt could be due to the terrible over heating before the rebuild

they rebuilt my engine twice before  someone else told them that it was my turbo causing the smoke to bellow out of it

Yes I've had a CT26 do that. It took me a while to figure it out though thankfully I did before I removed the engine. I put a Coke bottle on the cam cover breather to see how much oil the engine was pumping out and there was none! I then checked to see if the breather channels in the cam cover were blocked and they were fine. That meant one other possible source of the oil - the turbo. I put the turbo from the race car on and once the residual oil was burnt off, it was fine.
What I'm trying to say is that this wasn't simple to fault find. I described the symptoms to lots of people and they didn't diagnose it properly. My mechanic friend swore that the engine was stuffed.
