Lots of like minded ideas in the last two posts haha.

If you still want a heater (albeit pretty crappy) just tap the two radiator lines. I am binning my pipes altogether, and the heater is not as important to me.

I think the radiator lines should be enough for the water to air system. It's only cooling a small volume then running through 4 metres of coolant lines plus a heat exchanger and back again. The water to air intake lines are the same size as the heater lines so again, should not be an issue.
If you run the intercooler in the cabin, I suggest enclosing in a box with the air intake and air exit fitted (twin entry naca duct) to allow controlled airflow. The other option is to run a air feed from one of the ducts in the front bumper, through the cabin, into the box, then exit under the car or into the engine bay via a duct .
The heat from the unit( in the cabin) will be minimal as you are already ahead of the game with the engine in the rear of the car and not 4 inches from your leg like all front engined car's. You can always line the inside of the box with gold leaf which will 'all but' eliminate the heat produces.
I like the idea and may consider it for mine at some stage.
Nice work bud!

Great minds think alike Brendan! I just left the auto rack in place, removed all the lines and blocked off. Someone told me the auto rack has less lock to lock than the manual. The steering feels quite good, I can feel the road better. The rack does need a rebuild though and I also have the quick steer pinion to fit, looking forward to that.

I have test fitted the IC and it fits behind the cage. My cage is a bit of a budget build. You could probably get a custom IC built to fit, the firewall tapers the higher you go so you could get something wedge shaped in there. Steve the diameter is highly dependant on the number and sharpness of bends, the more you have the greater the diameter you need to limit pressure loss in the system. I'll be keeping the air supply pipework pretty simple as this car will probably never be a fully fledged race car, it needs to be an all rounder for rally, targa etc.

Will be interesting to see the finished result. Are you installing over the weekend?

I'll make a start on it but I need to order all the fittings etc yet, pull the fuel tank out etc etc

If you use the water fittings, you should not have to remove the tank. You should be able to attach the lines from either end without restriction.

I intend to return the lines through the tunnel into the cabin, with a bulkhead fitting securing them to the tunnel so I'll need access in there. Anyways, I need to remove the tank to fit a new fuel pump so it will just make things easier.

I wired up all my gauges today, its my first wiring job and pleased with the result. Thanks for your advice Steve!

Hey Pat,
I watched the in-car footage from Baskerville which one of the guys at the MR2 Nationals loaded onto youtube.
Its me giving the passenger ride. You can hear the knock of the suspension against the inner guard and the tyres not agreeing with the road but a great experience. Thanks again for the drive and look forward to playing musical chairs at MTC2014.
Also used  a stopwatch against the footage to check the times. 1.08.2/1.07.5/1.07.3/1.09(traffic)/1.06.7. I think the passenger was about 90kg if not a little more. So with a light fuel load and no passenger, with those work out tyres, you would see a low 1.05 without too much trouble. Certainly more time in learning the track to gain more time.
Also feel you could tighten up the chassis in the front (seam weld the strut towers, underbrace and strut tower brace which is located behind the front guard) as it would get a little 'slow' when you push the car. Its great right now, but can get better with these upgrades.

Look forward to seeing the times after the brake/suspension/tyre/weight reduction upgrade.

thanks Steve for the feedback. I'll need to update this thread. Ive fitted the JIC coilovers, lightweight wheels and new rubber so I'll be out on the track soon!
