Hi,
I'm rebuilding a gen II 3SGTE and hit a snag with the exhaust manifold gasket.

I bought a COMETIC exhaust manifold gasket, C4206-030, its fitting clashes with one of the instructions.  The instructions say that the brass riveted points must be outside the compressed region.

The gasket fits the studs OK and matches up with the exhaust ports.

The cast iron manifold surface covers both of the brass rivets of the gasket.  The alloy head has a recess over the LH rivet so it wouldn't be under compression when the manifold was attached.  However the head surface is flat facing the RH rivet so this rivet would be compressed between the head and manifold.   Should I remove this rivet?  The studs seem to be doing a good job of keeping the MLS sheets aligned.
