I am currently getting my Sdub ready for engineering inspection and I have just discovered my 225/45R17 tyres on the rear will not pass because diameter is too big
The closest I have calculated I can go is 235/40R 17 but I am in a dilemma as to which brand to get as I currently run Bridgestone RE002 front and rear but they don't do this size

What is a good tyre to get in this size around $200-250 price range?
Only for road use :)
Thanks

Would you need to consider tyre load rating as well? It's 83 or 84 for the fronts and 94 for the rears.

The only brand I know that have it in those 215(front), 235/40/17(rear) size with correct load ratings in your price range is the Kuhmo ku39.

Thanks for the reply, I already have 205/40R17 on front and their load rating is ok at 84 and from what I see most 235 are 94 which is above the 91 that my 1991 adm requires

Actually the dealer is supplying the new tyres as they incorrectly supplied the 225/45/r17 and I am tempted by the Yokahama AD08R, I am sure I can get it if I pay the difference but they only have a load rating of 90 which I might get away with because the 14" rears originally have a load rating of 88

I just got a new pair of AD08Rs in 235/40R17. Was previously running Dunlop Direzza DZ101 in the same size.

Oops, correct 91v for for the rears but for when the car had 15inch 225/50/15 wheels for rev2+ models .

88v for the original 14inch wheel rev1 models, they had 205/60/14 rear tyres though, you may want to do the calculations again to see if the 235s are in spec.

I ditched the RE002's and went Federal 595RS-RR's due to size issues.
They have both 215/40R17 and 235/40R17 available.

If I do change to ad08s for the rear I will change the fronts to the same later

why dont you just wing it for the inspection, it might not be picked up? if it is picked up you can have another go at fixing it, I suspect the give you a timeframe to fix any issues.

Oh they already have picked it up on approval in principal and I got defected for them just before I did my engine swap :(
They dealer is changing them free of charge for me so I'm not too worried
