There has been a announcement in Qld that the MR2 Nationals will be help in S.A. in 2017. I am not a S.A. resident but as the S.A. guys support the MTC (and are a great bunch of guys), I would like to put my hand up to run event at one of your tracks for the Nationals. Based on my experience with the MR2 Trackday, I would be keen to run a similar format for the Nationals in 2017.
 
A schedule such as :
Driver trainer track walk from 8-9
Drivers Brief 15 minutes
Orientation session 15 minutes
Passenger session based on numbers
Timed practice for three separate groups
Time attack x three rounds
Regularity x 7 laps for two groups
Demonstration race
Passenger session
Pit straight photo session.
Scoring system the same as MTC.
 
I will work on having as many of the road to race spec MR2's coming over via truck or convoy.

Hopefully Tailem Bend will be finished in time....

As far as I've heard (with little research done) it won't be done til 2018. So prospects aren't looking good at the moment

I have yet to call these guys but I am focused on Mallala. It is historic with many of the interstate guys (would be)interested in driving one of Australia's classic tracks.

I have spoken Mallala management. After explaining who I am and what the plan is, he was very accommodating, we struck up a deal so its really a matter of confirming a date for the Nationals to get the ball rolling.
The basics are fire, ambulance, timing, on-track photo sessions, driver trainer. Just need to sort out garages, on site cafe or organised bbq, local accommodation.
Will also ask the mechanics from MTC if they are interested in coming along. 
Cost would be around $240 for the day.
 
I was also going to throw around the concept of a day at a Hillclimb but I do have reservations due to risk of damage in comparison to a circuit.

I know its pretty quiet in S.A. so I am happy to help out. Will do my best to make it memorable but its really up to the S.A. crew to give me the go ahead.
I am seriously looking at a few events at Mallala before the Nationals so it will be well oiled by the time it comes around.
Are there any 'unlimited speed' roads heading towards NT? Now that would be amazing!

There is only a short section in the NT of a couple of hundred kms which is unlimited these days, but it's still over a thousand kms from Adelaide, so not viable to be part of the event lol. I don't think there will be much planning done by the SA guys until later this year... I'm pretty sure we could use your expertise with running the track day though. Thanks for offering to help, we're only a small group here, but we're enthusiastic lol.
