...aaaand now nudging 13 years and 427,000km, poking my head back in to say "yep, I *still* have this thing!"
Not much to report otherwise. It really doesn't get used much these days, with a good chunk of that last 7,000km being a return trip interstate in 2017. Time just flies...

I DID blow the dust off the AW11's old SSR Type-C's (which haven't been on the car since 2011!) to recreate an old look for the TCCAV "Classic Japan" show last December:

Temporarily de-mudflapped and the 2006-issue UBQ plates to complete the look; something different for those who see the car unchanged every show, and a blast from the past for those who remember it ~2010/2011!

It's a pleasant surprise to see the forum still bumbling along anyway...

Still looking great.  No longer the TEQ plates?

427,000?? really?  wow & I thought mine was high at just under 300,000.

Are you bringing it to Canberra in October?

Good to see you are still lurking. Do you still have the ever growing collection of rims? Rays Engineering Super Volk are one of my fav that you have put on the adub.

Just under 300,000km? *throws hands up* TONS of life left!
I P-Platered mine to 350,000km on the original unopened motor - only tearing it down as it was due for a major service that would have been a little illogical on a motor so long in the tooth. It's a 4A-G not 3S-G, sure, but both are known to be very stout! You're fffine... :)

MR2 Nationals I presume? I reckon I should! I live on the NSW South Coast these days, so might well have to drag the MR2 up for a holiday. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

..and the TEQ plates? They're actually on a Supra I daily these days. The UBQ plates were only put in place for authenticity's sake; the AW11 has been on club plates for a couple years now...

The Type-C's were only put on for Classic Japan to save it from essentially going to a party in the same dress three years in a row; rest assured the AW11's go-to shoe are still those Super Volks! A little silly when yep, I still have more wheels than I can poke a bloody stick at waiting their turn on the AW11's hubs. I just can't justify the tyres rotting away when I now use the car so little. Even the RE001s on the Type-C's were riskily coming up ten years old..

Thank you for posting the additional photos! The clean aesthetic is superb. You're making me consider getting my spare set of stock 15" wheels finished in gloss white. However the maintenance to keep my car looking fresh would most likely drive me mad.

I especially joined this forum to let you know what a stunning AW11 you have.

My son and I have brought an 87 AW11 5 Speed Supercharger to restore to factory original, poor ole gal is all there but pretty tired and a little rust, but not too bad.  Has 175,000km on the clock and the Targa roof leaks like they all do.  Anyway, thanks for such great inspiration for us with ours.

Here she is before we started stripping her...

Hope you still have her, you are the reason we joined!

Looks like a great place here and I hope I can help others out with parts etc even though I am in NZ

Kind regards
Anthony and Cameron
