thanks for the nice feedback! :D

brakepads were just some very regular Bendix units. its whats been in there for the last 60,000; and have never had any problems with the brakes in these cars. i totally understand there are much better pads/rotors/brake-setups out there though!

i've actually still got a set here!
they're in great nick, and i ran them for quite some time a few years back; but i keep the ADM tails on these days as a little nod to its aussie-deliveredness.. :P

still gathering parts, but i got lazy. [:I]
good oldskool bits are hard to find, expensive, and almost always need to be refinished. the old momo, the simmons, the recaro's etc.. just hard work. i was just getting sad looking at the Simmons and knowing they need to be rebuilt. shiney new parts dont need anything doing to them; just bolt them on. they're easy to get, and fkn value.

and yyeah, the car is too low for me. dumped is funny - and im hoping itl grow on me more - but i want to up it a bit soon. the front tyres scrape on the front guard liners on hard mid-corner bumps... and that makes me sad. ive just turned the dampening up a couple clicks on the front, so we'll see if that fixes the problem for now.

on another positive note, aus-post tried to deliver the rails today. japanair ftmfw. [:0]
will be picking them up from the post office on monday. :)

well I ended up winding the front up 15mm or so. leveled it out, still looks nice, and doesn't scrub. :)
heap of pics from a week or two ago:

then more goodies arrived...

First of all, the Rails:

i cant believe how well they just bolted in. i always just expect something to be wrong, and at least a bit of screwing around to get the ba$1ards in... but there was none! far too easy to get in.
the replacement Recaro bolsters arrived at the same time, and the whopping 1.5m piece of the original black Recaro fabric, but i just couldn't help putting the seats in for the time being. :P

they're actually very very comfortable. i wish they weren't so wide across the back and base, but the back support is really great, so it sort of cancells out. :) bit more hungry-jacks and they'll be spot-on. :P

another part that arrived was the NRG quick release and lock..

it pushed the wheel a solid 3" closer to me, but damn its awesome. :P

aaaaaaaanyway, all those bits in justifies MORE pics. i seriously spend all my time cleaning, driving, and taking pics of my car.
i need to scope better locations (and get better with the camera), but its all a ton of fun.

and extra pic from haunted hills last weekend.. :)

sorry for what is now an entire page with pics of my fkn car. :/

The seats look fab. Glad to see the Recaro sliders bolted right up, and fit the body mounting points well. Great shot of the seat bottom with sliders. Now I can make some plans myself.

Sort of hate to see the original material go by the way though, as they seem to look so good as is. However, if you do go ahead with recovering them please contact me as I might be interested in trying to conserve some of the original material.

Couple of questions on the sliders:
a) how well do they slide (do they need greasing):
b) do they maintain seat height about the same as oem:
c) do they have as much clearance under the seat as oem, as I have amps under mine, and would need to maintain about the same height:

Too bad the quick release wheel sticks out so far, but it does look great, and love the lock portion, as I had not seen that before. Not a bad idea to help theft-proof the car a bit more.

Keep up the great work. It's definitely one of the better looking adubs anywhere, and it still looks pretty classic, even with the few modern add-ons.

But seriously... I love every mod you've done to this car. Well done
