Because of increasing physical limitations with my left leg I don't have an ability to change gears manually, so I have been looking around for a suitable SW20 automatic for quite some time. I finally found one in Sydney a few months back which is all completely original and has sat in someone's garage for a long time, hence the 79k kms on the clock. I though I'd put a few pictures on the site to let people know that such cars are still around if you are prepared to wait and keep looking. So far I have only had a major service done (all fluids changed and complete check over of body, etc;), and while the radiator had to be replaced with a new one and the front brakes needed an overhaul the car is in excellent condition considering it hasn't been used. Driving the car after the service it felt like new and so different to the 1989 AW11 S/C I have. The car is still in Sydney at the moment but I hope to bring it home to Brisbane in time for our Christmas function. Enjoy the pictures.

Good find.
That driver's side seat looks amazing, looks like none of the usual wear on the side at all.
But will you be able to get this car looking as immaculate as the adub?

If i am not wrong... that gearbox also features on the camry v6? swap a turbo motor in there (keep it stock though0 and you should have a pretty fun little cruiser

Good one, young fella. Shame to hear about the reduced mobility though.

If you're driving it back to Bris, please give me a call when you pass through Newie.

Thanks to all for all the nice comments about the car. It was real find, particularly as the price was soooo low. No-one seems to want the autos but for me it does offer a bit more room plus I don't have to work the clutch (read "can't").
To respond to the observations:
1. It will be brought up to my ADub standard but I might make some small changes to the interior to make it a bit more contemporary.
2. "No" on the turbo idea - while I might never be too old to rock and roll, I am a bit too old to have a roll over. I have a thing, as most who have seen my ADub know, on keeping cars as original as possible. Mechanically and aesthetically topnotch, but nothing over spec. I also find that this gets the greatest reliability in old cars.
3. This is the first time a sailor has asked me to call him when I am in the neighborhood so I will. I hope to be down in Sydney again to look after my folks around the second or third week in October - Mum is 87 and Dad 89.
Best regards,
Walter

Excellent. I'm going down the Bathurst with a few of the 'local' MR2-ians in October, but that will only be for a few days. Please call me when you are down here.
