Thanks to everyone so far who has said they are attending. Here's a few more details after the Run Manager and her chauffer completed the second recon for this inaugral night run:
1. Dinner at Harry's Diner (sounds like a very, very old song) is
not compulsory at all. Some of us are eating there starting at 6.30pm but provided you
arrive by 7.30PM ready to go then it will be fine. This is our first ever night run so there may be some glitches, but as per normal we'll get these sorted out so the next one is better.
2. We will be doing a run briefing prior to the run starting because the traffic lights, etc; will tend to break the group up, so what we have planned is a number of re-grouping points so that everyone can be together for the best parts - like the runs along the river.
3. The route lets us circle the city twice plus a run along the riverside expressway and the cliff top opposite the city with some great points for photos, etc.
4. We want to use UHF radios for comms if we have enough. I have two good hand helds but if you can bring some more along then please do.
5. We are going to provide some small snacks and tea and coffee at the finish point in case the cafes are not open, or they only serve meals at that time of night.
6. Expect the run to be over by 9.15 to 9.30 at the finish point.
7. We will be discussing the Maclean's Bridge Show plus the RACQ Motorfest and the All Japanese Day raised by Senol during the run.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
For Eric - welcome to the Run and we are all looking forward to meeting you and your Dad. The "L" plates don't present a problem but you will have to sign the normal indemnity form we have. This is a great group of folks who just love these cars and we try to have as much fun as possible, so I am sure you will fit right in.
