Neons, Subs and The MR2 After Dark
 
On this year's Run Calendar we proposed the first ever after dark run for Friday the 4th of May.
However, after a detailed recon done by our Run Manager, Groper and myself we have decided to put this on a week later, so Friday the 11th of May is now confirmed.
The change was made for a number of reasons (expected heavy traffic getting away for the long weekend, the dinner venue hosting Yankee V8's on Friday the 4th of May, etc) but the main one is that we want to have a good time so some more planning has to be done.
 
The general idea is to start with dinner at Harry's Diner on Newmarket Road, Windsor, and then tour Brisbane City at night via a couple of circuits around the river and the CBD (roofs off, neons on, subs beating - oh yeah)   and then head out to the Bay for supper. All up about three hours out after dark. I have possibly exaggerated about the neons and subs, but as they say, if you have it, flaunt it.
 
A Run Sheet will be prepared as per normal but please mark this in your calendars and make sure your cars are fixed.
 
Remember, Harrys Diner, 104 Newmarket Road, Windsor, Friday the 11th of May, 6.30pm for 7.00pm dinner and leave for the Run at 8.00pm.
The only change to normal Club rules is that if it is raining then this night out will be cancelled.

I should still have my Spyder then, maybe i can come on a last MR2 cruise for old times sake?
 
If i cant bring my MR2 (its getting new decals that day so hope they get it done...) could i come to say gday to people in my new car? ill stay at the back of the pack...

Sadly I will be well out of town for this one, which makes me feel bad seeing as I was pushing pretty hard for the night runs.  Have fun fellas!

Greg, we hope you can make it! Haven't seen you for some time and would be fitting if you could be there for one last run (before you sell your Spyder?).
If you bring your Gangsterleen, however, it will fit in well at starting point at Harry's Diner. With that huge 6.1 litre Hemi you can probably just idle along behind the MR2's!!

Groper, Yeah i am selling it, just about to put it up for sale actually. Maybe ill put it up in the forums here as well, want to get rid of it fairly quick, so selling it cheap for what it is.
 
yeah, my hemi could idle and keep up hahahaha, so it should, uses enough fuel to support a small arabic country hahaha, but she is a beautiful beast, hope the weather is good, be nice to meet up again :D

Sounds like a great night.I think the Roar Power Spyder will be glowing in the moonlight. Put us down for two. Going topless through the city streets.

Side note, any1 got a good "how to" on a mk2 sub install / box build or want to earn a carton? 
 
I have a 460W RMS sub amp, and a 260W RMS 4ch, and am looking to put it and 2 subs, components and head deck in the car soon.
 
Just need to figure out the subs first!
