Run Details Saturday 28th of April - Up The Crows Nest
 
The announcement a few weeks ago that the state-wide Council elections were to be held on Saturday the 28th of April interefered with our planned timings for this Run so the Run Manager had to completely revisit the route and work out how we could still enjoy ourselves while accomodating everyone having to vote. Please note the change to the normal start time which should give everyone a chance to visit a polling station before we set off.
 
Start Time:    10am for a 10.30 am departure (delayed to give everyone a chance to vote).
 
Meeting Place:   The BP Service Station at Brassall on the left hand side of the Warrego Highway heading towards Toowoomba. This service station is 1 km before the intersection with the Esk-Hampton Road and there is a Caltex Service Station 300m before the BP.
 
Route:     The route for the Run will be via the Brisbane Valley Highway to Esk and then the Esk-Hampton Road up the range to the New England Highway (great twisty road) and then on to Crows Nest for lunch (fantastic pies at the bakery who have said they will make sure they have enough for us as they sell out very quickly). After lunch we will travel west through Goombungee and Yalangur (more great twisty roads), and then skirt around Toowoomba to get down the range and go south via Helidon and Gatton. Afternoon tea will be at the new Macca's at Gatton and we will then take a cross-country route back home through Laidley and Rosewood, with a short "farewell" stop at the first BP Service Station on the left after we re-join the Cunningham Highway.
 
Run Sheet:   As per normal if you put your name on the roll call then a detailed Run Sheet will be PM'd to you before the Run.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to attend.Some of us work on Saturdays. (The joys of being self-employed) It sounds like a great run, have a fantastic time, and we'll catch you all on the next Sunday run...cheers.

What is the projected time of arrival at Esk?

Hi Knightrous,

as already posted we have had to make allowances on Saturday for people needing to vote in the Council elections, so meeting time at the BP on the Warrego Hwy is 10.00am with departure planned for 10.30am.

This would put us at Esk at the turnoff to Hampton between 11.10am and 11.20am.

I was talking to Scope today and as he lives out that way if he can make the Run then he'd like to probably meet somewhere on route SO we will wait at the Esk turnoff for 10 minutes to make it easier for members like yourself and Scope.

We will be sending out a Run Sheet tomorrow morning via PM for everyone who has said they are coming so please look out for this. Copies will also be available on the day.

We're a bit later than normal because we had to make changes with road conditions and avoiding Toowoomba.

We normally send out a PM to everyone who is coming on the Run which includes the Run Sheet, but at the moment the attachment function on PM's doesn't appear to be working. I have asked our esteemed Admin for help on this (it happened once before) but in the interim for everyone who is coming, or thinking about it (it's difficult I know because the politicians decided to have an election on our Run Day so choices have to be made), I will get the Run Sheet out as soon as the PM situation is fixed. If the glitch isn't remedied in time then we will have copies at the meeting place.
 
Don't forget the start time is 10.00am for departure at 10.30am. Meeting place is the BP Service Station on the left hand side Warrego Highway at Brassall, 1km before the turn off to the Brisbane Valley Highway to Esk. As per normal the Run goes ahead rain, hail or shine.

Our highly esteemed Admin has fixed the PM attachment problem so the Run Sheets have been sent out.
 
Just a quick reminder that the maximum number of PM's you can have in your Inbox is 50 and a couple have already come back as the recipient being full, which means that you won't get the PM until you delete a few messages.
