bought my first (and already can say not my last) MR2 SW20. Bought this from a Storm Damaged auction, had only minor - quite superficial dents around the body, nothing major Finally

1990 MR2 G-Limited
3SGE Autofailamatic
154,000km
Timing belt replaced under 5000km (Score!)
Looks to have a new or a reconditioned head (Scorex2!)
While stripping out for a clean found some Japanese chewing gum (Scorex3!)

This will be serving for daily duties, to and from TAFE.

No real decent pictures yet, these are what was on the auction.

Get ready for the automagic jokes [:P] I copped them when I used to own my old G-Limited auto.

Looks like it has potential though. Slap some wheels, kouki tail lights, clear indicators and dump it and you'll have a winner

i guess the difference is he has said it's a stepping stone. he knows what he has and what he eventually wants.

you just chop and change Jeremy;)

Lol. Don't bother with anything on the auto N/A. Rego and at least some wheels and a gen3 lip and your laughing with a nice rare daily ride that should be as reliable as any Toyota should be and cheap on fuel. Save the pennies for the 3sgte.

Simple reason for coilovers/sway bars/wheels was i was lead to believe they fitted both NA and turbo models so when I do move on I can take those parts off and swap them around. Honestly, now that I think about it once i get a Turbo i seriously cant imagine sufficing for a NA Auto.

That being said, for an auto NA Auto it definitely has some poke (or maybe as I am comparing it to much larger(heavier) cars), can anyone confirm what the MANUAL and SPORTS button do...cant seem to find a clear answer on the difference. I know one alters the auto shift points (assuming manual) but then what is sports?

[88] Just like when I first got my car back in 2001. Except mine was used and wrapped up in its original wrapper.

Fowles auction.
The car was grouped with the cars 2003 - 2010. Pure accident on behalf of Fowles.

Price as it stood from auction was I received a small bit of change from $1000. As I walked out, got asked by 2 people if i would be interested in selling for a little more.

Anyway, continued to clean this, started attacking the sweet (cough) 14" wheels. Discovered for some reason the rear (7") wheels are on the front, and the front 6" wheels are on the rear. Rear wheels, which are on the front have great tread. The front wheels that are on the rear are completely bald. Confusing much?

To clarify those two buttons on the transmission. This is what mine had...

MANU = Snow/ice mode. The car will change gears at lower RPM and be more sluggish.
PWR = Power mode. The car will change gears at higher RPM and have greater acceleration.
