That's normal on the gen 3 the outer brake lights are wired up to act as rear fog lights but for some reason there is no switch for them in the aud models as far as I know

(BTW, a 'subject change' screws up all the responses for your original question - just start a new thread!!!)

Oops! Thank you for letting me know Dudeman.........promise I won't do that again :-)

Hi Nate,

Now there is the best explanation I have heard........goodness knows who made that decision for AUD models!

It may be one of the very few mods that I intend to do to the car.

Thank you.

Hey Monika,
Are you trying for the rear quad light mod? If so i might have to thread jack lol. (You got me curious and i want to do it now)

Can anyone confirm now many wires goes into the holder for the dual filament bulb holder? I opened mine yesterday and it only has two. The actual bulb holder & my bulb is dual filament but only lights up on the park lights, not when i break.

Thanks!

Hi SX,

No worries.........here is another thread that I have found with regard to the wiring configuration......there's an easy wiring diagram in there that explains the difference between AUDM and JDM:

I just need to get brave now and attempt to connect a modified loom

Or, maybe I will just be a whimp and pay an auto-electrician.

there are three wires in the socket/holder-one for ground, one for tail and one for stop

you can use a stop/tail socket from an early revision, just use a knife to trim the plastic lock tabs to fit the later kouki lights

chop the two wire socket off and solder/heatshrink the tail and ground wires from the new socket (three wire) to the correct wires
then the remaining wire (3 wire socket) goes to the brake light wire on the one next door

I wired up my brake lights so that all four light up when braking 'OO..OO' and, also all four are on when parkers turn on 'oo..oo'.

I just used the harness from my NA when I put my Gen 3 tails on.
