Hi,

OK, so had my "TRC" query answered - thank you Dylmrt.

Moving on to the second question:

My rear tail/brake sockets are currently configured to be single filament globes for inner brake lights only and dual filament globes for the outer tail/brake lights............however, the outer brake lights on the dual filament don't work. All the wiring still appears to be original, so I don't understand why they wouldn't work.

Would anyone have any thoughts on why the outer brake lights would not be working?

Cheers, M

TRC generally is the traction control system. Very few SW20 came with this though?

Thank you Dylmrt,

Obviously has nothing to do with my rear brake lights then :-)

Are you 100% sure the bulbs are ok

My suggestion would be a little bit of diagnostic work on the connectors going into the light assemblies - make sure you actually have power where it should be when you press the brake pedal, and when you turn on the tail lights.

I'm presuming that Obvious Check #1 has been done (that the bulbs are all good)

Yep, bulbs have been checked and I have bought spares and swapped them over to double check......... I am blonde so understand your statement about the obvious!

I might have to get an auto electrician involved - don't have the necessary tools to do power check on the wires.

I assume your car is the Aus delivered model? My car brake lights act the same as you described. So maybe its normal?

Yeah, mine is AUD - strange that all the fitments and bulbs are setup for dual lighting but don't work. I am getting Toyota to check it for me today, so will know tomorrow if it has something to do with the way AUD's were wired.

Dudeman

For whatever Toyota wisdom reason, JDM light up across the four on braking, ADM the inner two only as shown in the pic.

(BTW, a 'subject change' screws up all the responses for your original question - just start a new thread!!!)
