I'm contemplating buying a caldina 3sgte to swap out a gen 3 with minimal blown head gasket (maybe worse as it got extremely hot.)
I'm planning on going to w2a and wanted an end feed intake manifold anyway.
What other advantages/disadvantages of going to a caldina 3sgte.
I will be running Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 ecu. I am also planning on a turbo upgrade down the track a little.
Obvious pros for me are
1. End feed intake manifold.
2. Coil on plug.

On another note will a ST215 or ST246 valve cover & coil packs fit straight on a Gen 3?

One negative of the gen4 is that it has weak(er) lighter rods than the gen3. This is fine if you keep the motor fairly stockish but once you start putting bigger turbos on etc it could be a problem.

Fit some gen 3 or forged rods will be a must then. Thanks for the info.

How do the blocks and heads compare?

don't think there were many (if any) noticeable differences between those heads.

Thanks EssDub
From memory I read somewhere that the Gen 4 blocks are stronger.
What about the turbo how does the integrated manifold turbo compare to the CT20B?
