Have a 1990 JDM 3s-gte MR2 all stock. Ignition leads have 7mm written on them - car has been running rough at low rpm when taking off and going up hills so I'm going to overhaul the ignition and fuel system.

When I use SCA's (don't judge) part finder it says I need the 5mm ones, but I'm gonna go with what's currently on the car I reckon. The problem is - I'm not sure if the ST185 celica's leads will fit or are the right ones:

Me thinking logically says they should be exactly the same with the only slight variation being the length of the ignition coil to distributor cable - Looking at the lengths on the SCA site it looks like the leads are about 1cm longer for the ST185 ones. If I buy the 5mm version I'm not sure I will have the right ones.

Anybody know for sure if those ones will work OK?

Cheers

If you currently have 7mm push on leads then you need the same to replace.

The thinner ones are generally clip on at the dizzy cap.

Yep - exactly, and I'm correct in thinking that those listed "st185" leads will fit my sw20 as they are both 2nd gen 3s-gtes?

The cap to plug leads wil be fine, but i think there is some difference in the cap to coil lead.

Thanks man, that looks like the easiest way to do it. Was dead set on NGK but if I can't be sure I'm getting the right thing at least the eagles seem to be. Hopefully the quality is fine, reviews seem good (y)

The differences are at the cap end over the years. I'm pretty sure that they all interchange anyway.

No they dont interchange unless you also change the dizzy cap to suit.
