Two different cars - turbo and non turbo in too many aspects than a turbo. Trying to create one from the other is more costly in most circumstances than just buying both.

Yes, you remove the turbo, block the oil and water feed/drains and enjoy less power than the 3sge your replacing.

Is your current motor toasted?

You'd probably have to get the car re-engineered to declare it as non turbo, then pay all those ridiculous fees to the government. Because if you don't the car will still be listed as a turbo even though it has been removed.

Not likely that any of the friendly blue shirt brigade will believe you when you explain what you have done as they quite often meet people who are 'flexible' with the truth.

And when the RTA (or whoever) list the car as turbo, that as good as gospel to the authorities. Then you'd have a fistful of tickets in your hand and a long walk home.

It's somewhat toasted. Just wondering if it would have been easier to replace it like than rather than fix it but fixing it is what I'll have to do

Even if you fix it, it'll still be a turbo. Wouldn't you still not be able to drive it?

If it requires a rebuild you could upgrade the internals in plans for adding a turbo later.

Hoonsy, i think he has a ge now that needs attn and was considering fitting a gte sans turbo

Could just put a beams in and not bother going turbo. That should keep you happy for a while.
