Apart from bleeding, suction units great when you want to completely replace the brake or clutch fluid.
But the only catch with the unit like the one above, is that you have to carefully watch the tiny clutch reservoir doesn't empty or you'll have to start all over.
 
The type that work with a compressor as shown in 5SGTE's post generally have an automatic reservoir top up bottle that makes it very easy to totally flush the system.

Does anyone know how to cycles the abs unit to flush fluid out of it? My understanding is that during "normal" bleeding the fluid in the abs does not get completely flushed? Is that correct?

Yes definitely get the proper 10 mm spanner for the clutch line flare nuts from somewhere like Repco. (see pic)

 

Also I would recommend checking out suction bleeding for easy bleeding of both clutch and brakes.

This allows one man bleeding, and there are a variety of kits available to do it. 

 

You can make these yourself out of cheap old spammers. Cutting wheel grinder. Cut small gap in spanner to fit over the brake and or clutch lines. **** load cheaper then buying one, and piss easy 1-3min job.

I finally got to use the vacuum bleeder to do a flush on a prado. Worked great, should have got one years ago. Cheers

You need to realize that the proper spanner will be hexagonal and not 12 sided like most ring spanners, and not only that it will be MUCH thicker.
With REALLY TIGHT flare nuts that could be the difference between burring or not, and crying for 2 weeks. 

I used the vacum brake bleeder again today. Was doing complete fluid change and got sick of pumping. So put the T piece in near the squeezer, connected another long hose and hooked it up to the inlet manifold. Started the engine and bingo, just made the task so much easier and quicker!

Obviously need to watch so you don't make the little catch container too full and suck fluid into the intake but it's easy to keep an eye on. A more fool proof solution would be to insert another catch container in line to the intake.
