Yep - they do make a specific product for dull lenses, but it's really expensive and I find the fine cut polish works just as well (maybe even a bit better)..

you must be referring to something else?  this is just a bottle, quite cheap, around $15 from memory.

I have seen a full on kit costing over $100, but it was some weird brand I never heard off.

You can also get small buffing pads to put on a drill from bunnings, easier if you dont need/want to remove lights.

Cheers

Ah - Yes, it was in a kit with the pads etc .. and was bout $50.00 - The fine cut polish is pretty cheap and can be used for other things....

Tasks for this weekend (and I will post photos) later include cutting of the lower radiator support member and replacing it with a newbie … and I would really like to star the removal process of the motor/gb … Anyone got any tips or tricks? – to me it just looks like standard removal off all umbilical lines , drive shafts, 3 engine mounts and it will fall out like an elephant  giving birth? ..

I figure dropping it out the belly is the go .. Then it’s off to search for new internals .. I have sourced oil pump, water pump, gaskets, head studs, intake & exhaust valves and still have a list as long as my arm to get..
The only thing that wll be outsourced on the engine side will be the re-bore/machining..

ALSO:  I’m thinking for colour to paint it Black Pearl with Gunmetal grey pearl ghost stipes – these will match the wheels in colour and being ghost they will have a translucent effect.. Interior will be black and grey leather…
That’s all for now … all I have to do is … do it. I will update on Sunday night …

I have pretty much finished the front of the car - just some additional rust proofing, under body protection and so.. but the main problem with the car is now fixed - that being the lower radiator support. I removed the old bent up rusted one and welded in a new replacement - as I have now decided to repaint the car black (with some cool surprises that you all will have to wait and see..), so all the front has been 2 packed with special rust preventative undercoat and paints..
I am waiting on a new race radiator, so it's missing that at the moment, but the air cond condenser is all nice again - this was the old one, I basically sand blasted it and repainted.. actually not sand blast but media blasted with glass as it's pretty gentle on alloy.. All brackets have been sandblasted too and painted with a 2 part epoxy rust preventative paint .. I generally replace all nuts and bolts on a project like this too..  So the front is starting to look like new ...

I think the engine removal is next weekend ... need to find a cheap engine crane ...Anyone in Brisb got one for sale ??).

Progress ..... is a bit slower than I had hoped - mainly due to me going off on tangents! ... The front is pretty much finished, all electrics have been sorted and all the pipework done - new pipes/hoses here too...
I have been experimenting with paintwork.. I have tried black with a red (more bronze) zeralic. It is a house of kolor type pearl except more ‘out there’ .. I have laid out stipes but as I don’t want them to go over the body have ended them with flames. These are ghost stripes so can only be seen under certain light conditions. The flames have air brushed ‘hot spots’ to create a bit of a 3’d effect without going to realistic flames which I don’t like. The jury is still out regarding this paint job so feel free to comment.. The photos do not do the effect justice as you really can’t photograph ghost stripes.
I have removed all the suspension and running gear ready for replacement/overhaul. My 12yo son is on the spanners under the rear removing heat shields and the suspension brackets –
This weekend I really need to get the engine out as it has an appointment with the machinist…
I have loads of parts coming from the US having hammered eBaymotors.com, TwosRUS, Mossy Toyota in San Diego and a few other suppliers whist our dollar was sitting at 1.10 ! – Then I can start assembling bits ready for mounting on the car (post painting) … Photos will be posted as I go … Still deciding between Motec, Haltec or Wolf ECU … all comes down to value for money ..

UPDATE: - I have finally made a few decisions....
Colour:  Black with Blue Xeralic (Ghost stripes and flames)

Pistons and internals: ACL Ross Racing Tins, Rings, Bearings
Head Studs, Mains, Rods, Flywheel - all ARP Bolts..
Interior - OH NO! I'm Still undecieded here!!! - I'm thinking a darker tan leather with black stitching.. hmmm .. anyone got any thoughts???

OK .. Engine is out - cleaned and painted - (at least the block is) - it's off to Terry tomorrow to b machined and have some nice stuff mated up to it.. Head is too!..

Personally I dislike tan interiors. My preference is black with slight touches of silver..

Tossing that colour scheme about too... just concerned that black may be too hot in summer with a "T" top ? ....

How about Tan leather seats and black center concole/dash with black door panels with tan inserts ???

When you say 'tan' do you mean like a brown colour? Or more of a cream? I love cream but brown just looks tacky in my opinion.

Could also go for a black with coloured stitching (like red or something) or forget the leather and go for a two-tone cloth (black and dark grey or something cool).

Just some ideas :) Either way I'm looking forward to seeing this come together.
