I don't think they block the lines, they simply vent it to the atmosphere. Which the factory set-up does too, cleaned via the cc set up. From memory the little vent is down near the fuel filter.

 From memory the little vent is down near the fuel filter.

On my car the vent is in a corner of the chassis in a black plastic box located just below the fuel filter.
The hose from the bottom of the cc is routed to it.

Conclusion:
 
The new fuel filler cap seems to have fixed both problems.  No more significant negative pressure and no buzzing.  Also so far no more kangarooing.  Can't believe that such a simple solution that has fixed both problems.  So good to have a niggling issue fixed.
