Spoke to Paul Brell tonight, he's dropping it back to the tuner tomorrow...

LOL, kinda difficult to stomach what you know your engine is going to go through/risk.  But you'll come out the other side smiling I'm sure.

Latest word is that the new turbine housing is good, car's running well with 18psi from mid 3k's, the tvis is faulty so they're going to whack a new solenoid in for that, and just fine tune the ignition timing a little more and the maps around the tvis switch point, but should be sweet to get the car next week in time for EC Brabham Circuit on Sunday 20th. Can't wait!

I did not realize you are still running the TVIS .  I know it was not used on the Gen 3 engine, so yours must be the Gen 2 engine.  Thinking back I wonder now if the bad flutter you had previously was caused by the TVIS.?
Is there still an advantage having the TVIS considering the Gen 3 stopped using it.

I am Looking forward to hearing news of a good result.

Yeah Gen 2 engine, I'm told you want it still if you have the standard Gen 2 intake (which I do, but have been suggested to ditch) in order to increase intake velocity at low to mid RPM. It wasn't a factor in the old turbo problem though.

Ditch the TVIS for sure.

The car's registered - is it not a useful thing to retain for general driving (yes a secondary use for this car admittedly)

Not at all. In fact that is the one of the first modifications people with GEN2 turbos used to perform (pod, exhaust, intercooler, boost and remove TVIS. Using the factory computer)
