Our company is totally in the black so we dont lease cars we buy them straight out and have the option to buy it at 3 years or 100 k which ever is first at the trade in value . So i can do what i want to the car. Same reason why i modified my BMW as much as i did

So the more the 86 depreciates the better the price i can get it :)

i was told subaru will be releasing their version this month and it will be priced and spec'd higher than the ft86 so as not to be in direct competition.

You actually can tinker with a lease car. But totally out of your own pocket & some maintenance expenses won't be covered. For example, my Lexus had free servicing as part of the deal. Naturally, they won't touch it if I did anything serious. Rims etc is ok, you jus remove before the lease is up as it's your property.

Btw, Shane went so far as to do a 1JZ swap in his leased IS200. Ballsy & unwise financially.

Boosted cars can have response as well. It won't bark as soon as you step on it but I'd rather that split second delay before it barks and bites at the same time when the turbo comes on.

Yeah as long as you keep the stock/small turbo on it. As soon as people go and whack on a large turbo, any response goes out the window. *prepares for **** storm*

Well I went for a test drive in the new 86 today. I have to say, I love the look of the car both inside and out, and really like all the technological advances of the car. I wasn't a fan on the power of the car. Its certainly not linear in its power delivery, just like the magazines state. Brakes felt much heavier than the MR2. I actually felt lower in the MR2 which is odd considering the 86 supposedly has a lower COG. Interesting to see what its like tho. I think if they beef it up with a super charger they'll spark a lot of interest to a broader range of people.
