That is a really clean install! Looks like a stock item.

What the process of getting the 20v motor in? is it a straight swap?

(Wow just figured out i can quote more than one message at once...)
Cheers Benji_AW11!
It does fit good, however a few things had to happen to make it happen - hence i wouldn't say its a straight swap -
in no particular order...
- 20v airbox needs to be modified to clear latch
- The wiring looms need to be spliced. 16v / 20v. mr220v from the states helped out with this, splicing the two having spliced many for a bargain under $500 shipped!! local auto elecs quoted $1300 to sort it out.
- Exhaust header is the 20v hence a custom mid pipe needs made to mate to the rest of the stock AW11 system or it could all be custom.
- Starter motor needed to be relocated.
- Assorted hoses need to be lengthened to minimise kinks.
- Throttle cable may need to be extended.

Simplified but that's bout all, it did drop into position easily thanks to the commonality with the mounts as did the existing gearbox.

> If you'd like to know more let me know ;) it can be easy and straight forward if everything is on hand - and IMPORTANTLY the donor engine is is good condition as well as having a good crew helping out. ;)

Taped a wheel with white electrical tape to see what the car might look like with resprayed rims...
Thinking white really shows off the dish... will replace these horrible photos with decent ones from the JDMST meet.

It does fit good, however a few things had to happen to make it happen - hence i wouldn't say its a straight swap -
in no particular order...
- 20v airbox needs to be modified to clear latch
- Air con pump modified (mine was removed to save the originals)
- The Wiring Loom - can get pricey as the 16v and 20v need to ideally merged to get clean install results (mr220v from the states helped out with this for a bargain (<$500 shipped!! local auto elecs quoted $1300 to sort it out)
- exhaust header needs to be 20v hence the following pipes need to mate to this - 16v pipes didnt quite do it
- starter motor needed to be relocated
- drain plugs relocated
- hoses lengthened and manipulated to minimise kinks
- throttle cable extended as to avoid drilling hole in firewall to use 16 cable

and that's bout all, it did drop into position easily thanks to the commonality with the mounts as did the existing gearbox.

Cheers mate that a great help, the conversion is something i might consider down the line one i get everything else sorted for track use and have learned the handling of the car. Im still up in the air about fitting a GZE motor or 20V and later turboing it or turboing the GZE....Decisions decisions.

BTW awesome job on the white electrical tape LOL, would have taken you ages!

Very nice work.  I've considered putting a 20v in mine too, so I'm glad somebody has already blazed the trail.
Cheers,
Brett.
