I'd be happy just to have dog engagement of 2nd,3rd,4th gears in an E153
but won't be affording that anytime soon.

i was thinking more a gear ratio issue, everything would have to be changed.

Gear ratios in most of these boxes are easily changed. Input/output shaft size and gear width, not so easily. Better to buy a box that'll take the herbs but have poo pooful ratios then get one with good ratios but is made of glass.

They deliberately make it very simple to do gear ratio changes.

true, but the ratios are not cheap whatsoever, no matter which brand ive looked into.

Of course not, its cheaper then having to replace complete gearsets when you destroy them though. If you are buying one of these types of boxes new, I am sure you can spec your own gear ratios. I have seen sequential type boxes uses for FWD 3SGE's. They are an off the shelf item. They do a gearset rated at 600nm, which is enough for most (perhaps not for my wayward goals). Will have to look them up again, I cant remember the manufacturer at this point. I think they may have been swedish or something?

Anyway, I believe this would mate to a 3sgte block. By the time you'd sorted your shafts and shifter mechanism, you would be lucky to get change from 20k. One day maybe.

you can see the gearbox (xtrac) in the pics in this thread.

you remember the the fwd HKS Celica? that used one too.

That ran a high 9.

These boxes come with the shifter mechanism etc included. obviously it's not a bolt up, but nothing like that would be. the best place to look for a WRC box would surely be Uk or Scandanavia.

Nah, this was the box I was thinking of, they do an application for FWD 3sge, ie, St202 celica etc.

Do a 17mm wide gearset rated at 600nm. So, thats two options.
