Once finished, I'll do a quick dis-assembly, re measure (I do a lot of this on the fly so, measurements get made up on the spot), work out exactly the amount of material used (not what I've bought or thrown away) and see what it pipes out at. I'm confident this will all be ~$200 in parts, materials and welding costs, which is still a good reduction on buying one of this size (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/oil-coolers-accessories/mocal-laminova-oil-cooler-water-cooled = $AUD445.18 + shipping).

In other news, now the owner of a 3 bedroom house and a 6X9 shed! Can finally fit all the project cars in the shed and get my machinery all setup.

Yes, the flares are actually sitting on the windscreen of the SlushDub (blue AW11) in the shed photo :)
Good chance it will be a project I kick off this weekend, can of rum in one hand, grinder in the other!

I see you have a plug in the core in one pic and not in another, were in the coolant system are you putting it? will you be running the plug or not, or drilling bigger hole in plug?
 
Wow 394 is huge! I have a 250mm long dual core, so prob around the same efficiency? 
 
 

I took the photos at different times and rearranged them for the post, but the core no longer has the plug in it :)
I'm not quite going to have time to get the oil cooler done before the MTC due to my workshop still being in boxes and not setup, so I might just have to settle for a dirty A2A for a couple of months till I can come back to this.

Cheap set of Specometer gauges so I can see what's happening with my oil pressure situation.

 
And some new HEL braided brake lines since mine are pretty shagged and I think are leading to some of the spongey pedal I'm getting now that I have the big brakes and big master cylinder.
