Now your signature really does make sense :)
Fantastic little ride mate, how do they perform in comparision to the SW20? i've always wanted a AW11

I've never had a chance to drive an SW20 in anger, so I can't really comment on what they are like at the limit in comparison to my own AW11 experiences. However, I've been able to give a few of the SW20 Turbo guys a bashing in the twisties, despite having half the horsepower.

At the end of the day, both models are just as equal with a good drive behind the wheel and what ever modification you can do to one, you can do to the other.

I just had a look at your site for your car. Well done with the site. Is that a blog site? How do you set a site like that up as I would like to do the same thing.
So your putting a V6 in your AW11. Thats pretty damn impressive work there friend.
Just a few questions.
Are you going to add additional bracing to the chassis to compensate for the extra weight, power, torque?
Maybe seam welding while the engine is out to improve rigidity?
Are you upgrading the braking on the car?
Will you have to get it engineered for the road or is it a track only car?
What spring rate are you using for the car?

Cheers

The website is a Joomla install (www.joomla.org) I maintain on my webserver. Joomla is an easy to use, open source content management system for running/creating a website. My website honestly needs some work, but I'm always too lazy to give it the attention it needs (rather go drive the AW11!)

To answer your questions:

1. I'll be building up the torque mounting points with 5mm steel plate as this is an area I have seen others damage with V6 installs. Just going to copy what Woodsport do for their 2GR installs.
2. Bigger brakes are coming. I'm currently looking at putting Wilwood 4-pots on with SW20 254x25 rotors for the front, and SW20 Gen3 rear calipers with AW11 254x20 rotors for the rear.
3. The aim is for a 100% street legal car, it will get mod plated etc etc.
4. I will be running 3kg fronts and 6kg or 7kg rears (depending how much the V6 affects the rear suspension. It's primarily a street car, so I'm keeping the suspension slightly soft since most of the roads I drive on are rough and bumpy.

Hey Knightrous mate - I have added contact details for a mobile certifier I used for my swap (you should talk to him first about the motor being a non-factory option) in one of the threads on the QLD page. He was the best priced I could find by far and is mobile too. The new Adub looks verrrrry clean by the way and I would happily have the finished product...

Few bits I've done over the last few nights.
Removing the crank pulley

Crank pulley removed.

Close up of the 36-1 crank trigger.

Half way through a wiring conversion spreadsheet. Will have all the pins and wires mapped for wiring it up to a MegaSquirt 3X.

Nearly completed pinout and wire colour map. Just need to a translation to the MS3X plug now.

Identifying a few of the mapped wires onto the actual loom to ensure I've them correct.

The three plugs to hack into.

Translation table for 1MZ to MS3/MS3X looms.
