Hi all,Ive heard there's a different setup that can be used to alter the factory "understeer" settings which will eliminate the inside tyre wear and sharpen up the steering....anyone know about this change and if so what are the settings and numbers reqd?

I believe excessive toe-in wears out the inner edge of tyres. Often misdiagnosed as excessive camber.
I have read some guys actually toe-out (small amount) for their track days, so presumably that might help with turn-in, but I have never tried it. Pretty sure you can google that, and not specifically for MR2s.
I am soon to do a track day and will experiment with taking the spare wheel out and see if the weight change is better or worse.

No!!  The opposite is the case.
Excessive toe-in wears out the outside edge of the tread.
 
Are you getting it mixed up with feathering (a sharp edge) that occurs on the inside edge of the tread blocks when there is excessive toe in?

Not sure about a set up, generally speaking some negative camber can't go astray, anything up to -2 should assist. Also run 215 tyres at the front for maximum grip. Wider tyres and you risk rubbing unless of course your offset allows for this.

Hi Redd,
 no I wasn't getting confused with the inside edge of the blocks, I was just plain wrong. I have never known  excessive toe in or out, so was merely trying to remember what I had read, and I got it wrong. The more I think about it, it seems more likely that the outsides are working harder, so won't make that mistake again. 
 Didn't know about the inside edge feathering until now. :o)  Thanks.

I run circa -2.5° camber and as much caster as possible on the front. Seems to work well in reducing understeer however will wear inside edge of the tyres.

I’m pretty interested in this myself, I’m not a fan of the tyres I have at the moment so excess wear doesn’t worry me much. Through some research I found these settings from old post;

Race —-

“Front toe 0.1mm toe out
Front camber -3 degrees
Castor equalled both sides slightly more than highest stock number.

Rear toe 0.3mm toe in
Rear camber 1.5mm

This gives a very neutral car that gives great turn in and is easy to control in a oversteer situation.”

Street —-

“This would work fine on the street, however for the street i would run:-

Front toe 0.1mm toe in
Front camber -2 degrees
Castor the same as the race setup

Rear toe 0.5mm toe in
Rear camber -1 degree”

It's pretty easy to rub holes in the plastic wheel arch with wide tyres and lots of caster. 
Maybe unimportant for track cars.

Fair point, being that I’ve got 16 inch wheels with 205 tyres probably wouldn’t be much of an issue I imagine
