Dudeman
Getting terms confused here I think.
Three Gens, Generation 1 AW, Generation 2 SW, Generation 3 ZZ.
Yes confusion, but understandable since many MR2 articles use conflicting terms anyway.
We should probably try and keep reminding people the correct terminology anyway, even though we can sort of guess what they mean in most cases.
As I understand it, to avoid confusion if you are talking about the SW20:
The term
Generation refers to engines - It should be used for engine parts only - not body parts.
E.G. SW20 engines = Gen 2, and Gen 3. Gen 4 (BEAMS) was never sold in Aus but there are a few around.
The term
Revision applies to year/model. It is the correct term to use for body/chassis parts.
1989 - 99 SW20 = rev 1,2,3,4, and 5
"Three Gens, Generation 1 AW, Generation 2 SW, Generation 3 ZZ."Yes, those terms are often used for the 3 different MR2 types, but they are also referred to as MK1, MK2, and MK3.
Confusing hey!!
