At least you guys are out there having fun even if you are finding the limits (of your head gasket!) then spending time making the cars stronger. I think the S.A. crew has one of the strongest circuit team in Australia. It certainly shows at MTC and your social days. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing you guys in the near future.

Hardly surprised, with the boost level that thing was running and having never really been tested for prolonged periods of time...  Sort of makes me wonder why it doesn't have a metal HG to begin with!

That's what practices day are for, to test your car see if has any week points. I need to set it up right. To manage my heat I will set up e85 and a speed sensor for boost per gear and axis tps option. As want I want to join a racing club. Want to do some door to door racing at club level. My other goal is get under 1.20 at Mallala. I need to invest in some Hooser Tyres etc.

Bugger that, haha.  Just replace it with a ST205 MHG and use ARP head studs.  If the gasket was metal, then either the machining was poor or maybe the head bolt torque was not checked after running the car for a little while after getting it running (1000kms can do a lot to virgin head studs).  Only other option is the excess boost ended up lifting the head (yes, that does happen and gen2 heads are **** to begin with) and giving you an unwanted rebuild!

Would love to Rick, unfortunately I will be overseas until early May.  We were planning on going out next in June.

I really hope to be back on the road by then. Still waiting on springs to be shipped and tie rods to be rebuilt but hoping to have the defect cleared late next week. Then a quick sprint to restore it back to it's former glory!

Got my defect cleared this week so should be able to "restore" the car over the long weekend. Looking good so far for Mallala on the 11th! :)
