Glad your getting the wiring sorted out, pitty you needed to tho. I remember one of the nights you were down after we left his place and went for a pub meal, you could not talk more highly of his work, pitty it had to be redone and things fixed. Things like this is why i try and do everything myself. By you taking on alot of this i hope the upside is you are learning things, so when things go wrong at the track you will have a much better idea of what you need to do to fix it.

I remember that night but I really had no idea of the true scope of the situation. I wish it was different too but it was simply not the case. The positive side is the amount of knowledge I have gained but still feel I have a hell of lot more to learn. Even so, what I have learnt was very useful today as it saved a lot of time in pinpointing problems. 
Yes i will be at the track very soon. Monday infact!

Thanks mate, these guys are excellent. When the workshop is full of race cars and they have about 100 trophies in the showroom, you know they are doing something right. 

 
I was hesitant to post this but firstly I to hope you do well at WPC.  You have certainly had a bad time getting this far and I do hope things turnout well for you.
 
Your statement above regarding the current workshop is encouraging but you have to ask yourself how many of these race cars are running a fully worked 2GR engine and likewise how many of the trophies displayed come from results of 2GR powered race cars. I am guessing but probably none.
 
Your engine combination is not only special but complicated due to the VVT which will take many hours of development (tuning).  I really hope these guys can pull this together.

This engine was tuned to a conservative tune so it lasts for years but I feel there is still more in it for a few reasons which i will work on over time.

The hp figure is 274rwkw@7500 which is about 310 at the flywheel. Its a bit of the estimates but at the end of the day, these are just estimates and this output is more than enough for trackwork.

The sound is crazy. In time I will work on some decent sound as it so loud it destorted the mic during tuning. Well over 100db at 2 metres from the back of it!

So the video shows some footage from the day before till the night its back at the workshop.
Now time to finish all the bits and pieces before Sunday.

It sound like a race car that plays music to a rev head which give goose bumps all over.

Well they certainly got the engine running for you. Looks and sounds great.  274RWKW is a good starting point which I am sure can be improved on. How will you get the sound level down for Wakefield?
 
There was one thing that surprised and worried me when looking at the dyno film clip.  I am not going to say now what it was, just curious if anybody else noticed it.  Hope someone else picked up on it.

It did make it a conservative tune but I think there are a few points I need to sort out. I will be changing to a return line instead of a returnless fuel line. I also believe that there was some electronic noise which may have effected the vvti control at high rpm. The injectors may also be shrouding as they are not the long nose units. I will be cutting a edge into the mounting plate so it does not do this if that be the case. 
Please let us know the concern with the dyno clip. All the ones in the clip were refining the map not the actual power runs as I ran out of battery power. I also had issues with gear selector and clutch so could only run in fourth gear. I fixed theses gear selection issues when I returned to the workshop. 
I guess I will take some steel wool for the noise !

With due respect, he is the one building, preparing, tuning, maintaining countless race cars for many semi professional teams. He's minor indiscretion is a far cry from all the rubbish I have tolerated from every other tradesman in this build. This team operates at a professional level, not a backyarder like so many others and has been very welcoming, methodical,patient and fair with pricing in regards to the car/engine package.
I do not understand why you are having a dig and do not appreciate.  

Steve you asked me to let you know what I found in your dyno clip and I am not having a dig at any one, just educating you and others who may be interested.
 
This error/mistake is very common and unfortunately is made by more than 90% of tuners.  To explain one has to firstly be aware that a wide band sensor like a O2 has not just one sensor at work but two measuring O2 content.  Unknown to many a second O2 sensor is positioned under the back shell of the wideband sensor. This sensor is measuring ambient oxygen levels which is used as reference for calculating correct A/F or Lambda readings.  If any exhaust gases are exposed to the wideband back shell the reference is gone and A/F and Lambda readings will be incorrect.
