So managed to spend a few hours unwrapping the car from its cocoon. Was pretty satisfying. It's certainly a different experience to the first time the car was painted as back then, it was in a mad prep to make it to 'The Farm' trackday which was a brilliant event, closely followed by the last ever trackday at Oran Park. After receiving decals and some instruction from Anthony (MTC photographer and active member of ACT MR2 Club) I set about fitting panels and decals. I did balls up the Toyota decal on the boot but the rest were pretty close to the mark.
Turns out we missed painting two garnish's and clear coat on on garnish plus the door handles are not painted so not 100% this week. Also have to sort out the new windows for doors, side mirrors and front windscreen replacement. Have decided to change colour of wheels to black as the bronze is not going to work with this paint scheme.
Just added a few photo's of how it went today.

Hey @admin I think there's something wrong with the MR2 :(

So still a bit to go before its 100% but its getting there. One bugbear is the TRD decals will be changed to black and a bit bigger. Simply cannot see them.

Thankyou Lumix,

Glenn was asking where the 'B24' came from. I told him then it got me thinking about adding those points to the build thread as it adds a bit to the story.
No one worked out where the orginal poaint came from as it was a really unknown IMSA team but this one is different as it is the works team colours. Very happy with the decision to go there.

The car has been home for the week. Most days I have been spending an hour or two on it. There is still a lot to do and a lot to fabricate so will be a few weeks before its ready to go. No big deal as the tuner is off until late Jan.
I have installed the rear quarter windows that Glenn gave me (thanks Glenn) which have really lifted the look of the car.
The front windscreen has been replaced as it was badly needed after all the welding in the car..
Most of the decals are on, the TRD one has been changed to black which (I think) is a better look. also tried some black paint on the rear wheel, in the A pillar inner edge, the side intake points which has also worked well.
The advancedpowerdercoating decal is wrong. I have followed the wrong line of the car so will have to change it.
I have finally replaced the old lexan windows with something that actually fits instead of the original ones which were designed for the agricultural lexan roof I built in 2009.
So just adding a few photos of the progress as it comes to light.

Looks like it's dropped in value pretty severely due to the paint job.

Wanna offload it?

I can do you a favour and take it off your hands
