I finished then sold off the ST162 then picked up a MR2 as the next project.
It an import for race only, brought through Autostyle at Hurstville , Sydney.
It has some great little extra's on it to save me a few dollars which always helps.
The car was clearly a track car in Japan with a motor in very good condition with an unknown amount of power but clearly an excessive amount for Sydney streets.
I will dyno at some stage but prepping the chassis, suspension, brake and tyre package comes first.
Should be a competitive little car.[img][/img]

I picked it up for a reasonable price. It was on Ebay for some time then check it out at the showroom and said yes. They have some amazing cars down there..
It hasnt suffered too much which is great.
I will be re enforcing sway bar points, spot and seam welding so I will keep up to date with pictures.
I have found out some valuable suspension perameters to run through a specialist who worked on a few Race cars including the Bathurst 12 and 24 hr cars. He could give too much away but enough to get me on the right track.
Where do I find a lightweight engine cover and boot lid?

places in america make light weight bootlids (fg or carbon)

just gut the engine lid. since its a track car cut out the slots abit too.

i would love to lend a hand when you strip the sound deadening etc, as i am heading down the same path shortly and it would be good to see what weight reduction can be done

Surok you use dry ice to freeze it and then just chip it off
I can tell you there is 6.5Kg of sound deadner inside an SW20.
