I bought a new Walbro fuel pump and fitted it. Car had problems. Long story though after many hundreds of dollars later, we proved the problem was the pump. We put another new one in and all good now.
Just a FYI for those considering buying a Walbro pump.

We've sold many many many many walbros and never had an issue. Admin, would you be happy to disclose where you bought the walbro? If it was ebay, i'd has a guess you may have bought a fake which was being sold as a genuine pump.

Check this article out: http://www.fuel-pumps.net/walbro-forgeries.html

I have had people come back to me saying yes they saved $25 by buying the one on ebay, but then it turned out to be fake, and now they need a real one. Again, do you have photos of the offending fuel pump or where you purchased it?

I bought the pump in December 2012 so I couldn't ask for a refund. I delete old emails so don't have records to look at. I'm 95% sure I bought it from these guys - http://www.driven2automotive.com/
We threw the pump in the bin. It's gone.

There have been many perfomance dealers and parts suppliers posting recalls of batches of "Fake" walbro pumps lately, it seems they're suppliers/wholesalers are trying to turn a quick buck and wash their hands of the ordeal to escape consequence, I've always used walbro > Bosch for almost the last 5 years in 6-7 different cars and never had a single issue.

Not too common walbro's fail. Usually the only thing that gives them poor performance or failure is bad voltage. Fake walbro pumps have come a long way over the years, the early way to tell once upon a time was they would have plastic gears instead of metal, when you look into the suction side of the pump. Now the only way we have noticed is the surface finish of the metal casing, and the weight of the pump. The fakes are noticeably lighter when you hold them in your hand.

Fake bosch pumps are becoming more common now, and the two common tells i have noticed is the stamping on the side of the pump either missing or not reading correctly, or the terminals are shiny, almost like the threads are plated. The genuine pumps have almost a chalky appearance to the metal.

Deatschwerks pumps i outright refuse to fit, as the 300lph pumps when they first came out were averaging a 30% failure rate (As in the pump would not actually work out of the box) Found out the hard way on an EVO6.

Aeromotive never had an issue with, but you have to be careful as their terminals are opposite to walbros and most other fuel pumps.
