Hi I've been building this car for a few years I've also been on the forum getting bits of information here and there so I've decided to post up a few photos of my car to see what people think i know it's not a Ferrari it never will be, but it's the only one I can afford. if you can't buy it build it haha I like how mr2s are set up, I bought the car hail damaged, for the Ferrari kit it didn't matter at the end of the day it makes people look twice especially when the gt30 comes on boost if people are interested in this build I have heaps of info and photos

I'd like to see more pictures and details
I think it looks good but in the 3rd pic the roof and/or the bonnet seems kinda odd

+1 for more pics, interesting build, looks like the kit used was a decent quality one
Agree that something in the third pic looks a little odd, might be the perspective? The bonnet seems a little long, but there are some things you won't be able to get the same as a 360 especially with the windscreen (and a pillars) having a different shape/rake and the targa tops.

To me the most obvious things would be the wheels and mirrors, the mirrors you have are like the F430 ones but angled higher

Looks great . Well done on the build!
In my opinion a set of genuine or replica Ferrari wheels would make it look more authentic.

I'd love to put the real wheels on but there expensive and I'd have to run spacers still I've thought about getting roh modenas custom made because I'm currently running spacers and it's not the safest idea the modenas are pretty close to Ferrari wheels

And as far as the roof/ front ever since I've got it reassembled after being painted I've wanted to either paint the targas or fill them and repaint the roof because the targas are a dead giveaway to me and yes I'd did buy 430 style mirrors when I was buying bits and pieces so I put them on I do have the originals that are supposed to be extended but that will happen at some stage
I started looking at Ferrari replicas a few years ago which lead me to the mr2 which are available in aus they still are hard to find but more plentiful than the other floor pans some are using and I've always thought the mr2 is a nice sports car after a short while one came up that had been hail damaged it had been around the mr2 wa scene for a while the guy that used to own it went by the name of greddy es this is what it was once

It looks like it was a nice clean car but I found it at and auction it was written of due to hail damage it didn't run and every single performance piece was taken back to standard which i didn't mind also it was listed as a 1998 non turbo far from that being a 1990 factory turbo so I bought it got it over registration it had a modded gen1 celica ecu with some form of piggy back and would hit boost cut so I threw a wolf v550 ecu in it and also rebuilt the gearbox and continued driving the car around for a few months till I found how to get a Ferrari kit in aus went to auto salon to check out a few cars and found beyond custom advertising the kit had a car on display a few months went buy and I called him up asking about the kits and he told me has the old kit he had on the display car so I bought it and didn't have to wait for shipping out of the uk (the kit is a Dave jones kit) he no longer needed it as he has made his own mould off a real Ferrari and now stretches the mr2 10 inches between the door and rear wheels this is his mr2 Ferrari

He then told me that the front end was out of proportion on the kit I was purchasing so I got him to stretch the front end by 5 inches behind the front headlights you can see the stretch in this photo

So once I got all the pieces it was time to fit it all up...
