Haha,

MR2 is on hold due to cash flow problems. I just unloaded my bank account on a new daily drive.

Has a few minor things I would like to fix up. Engine and drivetrain seem mint and the interior is pretty much as new.

After driving this:

for a good number of years, its a pretty decent step up. The corolla never let me down however, only time it 'broke down' per say, was when I had to stop to replace a flat, or a couple of times when I ran it out of petrol :D

.......what's needed to get the mr2 back on the road? thought it was just a timing belt?

nice daily by the way. just saw a ke30 ripping it up at a motorkhana today. man he abused that thing.

I sold the turbo setup. I had intent to fit a larger turbo, likely a borgwarner 300SX series turbo in twin scroll configuration.

I've also got a large fuel pump (which requires a -12 feed) and was going to relocate/reroute some plumbing and W2A intercooler items. All together, including the two wastegates I need etc, the MR2 will need about $5000.

Niiice James!
I've stopped modifying the MR2 and have moved onto the Evo instead.
Better bang for buck imo.

Possibly.

Evo is quite substantially heavier, so needs more herbs to accelerate as quickly. The drivetrain is also alot more fragile then the MR2 drivetrain, and I suspect will need more looking at/money thrown at it then the MR2 gear.

I personally think the MR2 looks better. It certainly doesn't handle as well out of the box, however, is alot more fun to drive. Evo is also much more expensive to buy in the first place. An mr2 with that difference in price spent on it would likely, accelerate, handle and break better then a stock evo.

Evo for me is a daily, not a play car. I spent quite an amount on my mr2, and wish I bought a much cheaper example now that I've molested it so much. The evo has an exhaust, I've also got new rims coming as we speak as one was damaged. That will be about it however, maybe an upgraded panel filter.

I don't want any issues from the boys in blue and want something that is nice and comfortable to drive every day, whilst still having more poke then most other standard road going cars.

Other things on the book for the evo are a full fluids change, new plugs and leads and a replacement ancillary belt (current one is damn near rooted).

Now, give me your evo IX rear bar ;) its even the right colour for my car.

Why did you not go with the caldina idea? Already chasing parts for the evo eh? Just stirring mate.

Nice daily driver! Better choice than the Caldina for a daily IMO. Easier to get parts/repair etc.

Evo + lip + bronze CE28N's = EPIC WIN (common but for good reason)
