yeahhehehe awesome! I know falken azenis when I see 'em!
Insane amounts of grip for a street-legal tyre.

Engine bay is looking great. Can't wait to see this thing in action

are those falkens "r" compound?

Nah, the RT615 aren't an R-Comp, i think the R comps generally have a wear rating of <100. I think these have a wear rating of 180. So they aren't as soft, however share a few of the other traits usually found in semislicks, being the stick sidewalls & large block area (added stiffness and dry handling ability, turns to poo poo in the wet though).

I'll probably move to an R-Comp like the Bridgestone RE55 after these wear out. I couldn't justify tyres that'd only last me 5000km or so (gentle street driving) when my clutch alone requires over 2000km of breakin before it can be harrassed too much. No use having absolutely awesome tyres if you can't use the car to that potential anyway. These should last at least 10000km (and up to 20000 dependant on driving habits) whilst still provided outstanding grip. Good for the weekend sprints. I hear that in long sessions though they can overheat and start to get a bit greasy. Considering your normal sprint days are only several laps, shouldn't have many issues though.

Yeah I think semi slicks are pointless for the street...you're never gonna use their full potential and will just be out of pocket all the time. Save em for track days i say[}:)]

RE30's mounted up. Not much room on the front I can tell you that! I'll have to see how it goes & fit up a 2-3mm spacer if required. Probably got about 1mm clearance there at one point!

The guys at Coleman Tyres Wacol were very decent and took good care of the rims during fitment. Took a while for tyre fitment due to taking care, however, rims came out of the process without a mark - big thumps up to them.

Front clearance - ie bees dick:

Rear clearance (8-10mm):

where did you order your tyres from? or did you jus stop by the local jax and ordered them?

Hey mate, tempe tyres in Sydney or wherever they were. Best price I could find. $260 delivered (each) for the front and $330 (each) delivered for the rear. Cost me $66 to have them fitted & balanced this morning at Colemans. They took good care of them too. Took probably almost an hour to fit them but didn't mark them at all - I was happy!

Cheers,

James.
