WARNING TO ANYONE USING KW V3 COILOVERS make sure your STRUT BOLTS ARE SERIOUSLY TIGHT!
 
Mine were tight enough, at least I thought they were before I hit an all mother of a pothole
 

 
In the short term, I fixed this problem by re-adjusting the camber and tightening by swinging my weight off a breaker with a meter pipe on the end. But everytime I drove the car it played on my mind. So, it was time to get rid of the elongated holes.
 

 
I'm compiling a list of everything done to it so watch this space.

My front coilovers are back in, along with the front swaybar... Just the rear to go in tomorrow or Sunday.

What settings did you end up with?
I'm still on the default settings on my KWs.

I don't remember the settings, a hell of alot softer than the default ones.
 
I was thinking of making a spreadsheet to save having to remember, but I'm going to spend more time testing and adjusting to see what works best.
 
Also I raised the car about 10mm which has stopped heaps of bump steer.

No, my work is making me go to Tamworth for a fortnight (minus the weekend). I'll make one of these meets one day.
 
Not too happy about having to put the bike away for a while.

Managed to get the bike out over the weekend, headed out Wollombi Road for the first time via Sandy Creek Road. The roads are pretty rough in sections but it's worth checking out for anyone in the area. Wollombi Road is not sign posted well and there's no center line in the fun sections so you need to be careful.

I have put 818kms on the Ninja over the last two weeks with only 6 days of actual riding since I've been away for work.
And it's almost due for it's first service already 
 
On a more MR2 related note, everytime I go to drive her the battery is flat as a tack. I think it may have been drained for a little too long while the car was in storage, so a new battery is on the agenda when I get home this Friday.

It's been awhile since I've updated this thread.

Alot of stuff has been happening in the backround.
I did a khanacross in the MR2 down in Cootamundra with the Wagga District Car Club. It was raining the whole day, which made things interesting.
Besides the handbrake not working, the car was flawless all day. It was very competitive and landing me a 3rd outright and 1st in my class.

About a week afterwards, the car ran into some oil pressure issues, and gave me the excuse to start my engine rebuild.

In the interim, I bought a Suzuki Swift GTi to get me to and from work.
 



I competed in another khanacross in Cootamundra, this time in the Swift. And this time in the dry, I scored 2nd outright and 1st in my class. Not bad considering the little 1.3l was battling with a few turbo imports and even a 1275 Mini racecar.
This saw me leaving with two trophies, 1st in Class A, and 3rd overall in the Summer Tarmac Series, although only competing in 2 of the 4 events.
 



Anyway, the 3SGTE bottom end is now currently at the machine shop getting some work done ie. Crank grind, pressure tested etc.
The new head will go to the shop in a few weeks once I get my new camshafts.

Next I'll be attacking the gearbox rebuild, the plan is to buy all new synchros, bearing, and a Quaife LSD.

It's also given me the opportunity to start other ongoing projects.

1. Koni and Eibach combo to replace the KW V3 coilovers.
Currently the strut housings are waiting to get powdercoated, I also need to buy new bump stops and boots.

2. Powersteering rack rebuild, so it can be used as a manual rack.

3. 93+ brake upgrade.

Why are you changing the KW's?
And I had the same thing happen to me during the QLD nationals - hit a bump which sent my wheel into the suspension because of those elongated holes!
