Hi all,

Just christened my new AW11 at the washers yesterday, and found out my engine won't start.

On the way home, after about 15 minutes of driving (some of which was highway), I was losing power when changing gears. I parked it at home, and found that it's now not starting.

I have a feeling as though power washing the car got water into the engine bay, and has gotten either the distributor or the spark leads wet, meaning I don't have any combustion.

I am hesitant to think that it was the fuel pump or hose, because it happened so quickly.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'd really love to get my car back on the road asap.

Thanks,

Joshua

How long after washing it did it not start?

If it was water in the dizzy it would dry up and should still start fine (thats going from experience of puddle bashing in my old corrola, used to use paper towel to get it dry and going again)

Paper towelled all of the spark leads and chambers.

I found the issue - I must have either bumped or hit one of the spark leads coming from the distributor, as it was out. Probably should have been the first thing I checked. Just took it for a drive, and no issues any more.

Always good when it's only a small issue.
