The window on my drivers side door has halved the speed it used to go up and down and makes a growling noise and doesn't sound like it is missing gears. My father is a mechanic and suspects that the motor is on its way out jusy want some input from some mr2 owners that may have gone through this problem aswell. Cheers

I rescued a small 12v motor driving a door lock mech that had become slow after being exposed to moisture (poor, though good looking crash repair on the door that my son's mate had backed into..). It would start and then quickly slow as the shaft turned and heated up. After fruitlessly Looking for a replacement, for what looked like a common motor, I talked to the guys at http://www.hobbyhabit.com.au/view/page/1.html, and it was suggested running it in some solvent. As suggested I used isopropyl alcohol with water and that cleared it, without starting a fire.. YMMV

Fixed the problem. Not sure how I did it but the problem went away after moving about some aftermarket components in the door

Interesting... Recently I've been thinking my windows are slow compared to other vehicles. I can't remember them just all of a sudden being slower than normal over the years though.

My Honda windows operate with 'conviction' compared to the mr2s 'I'll give it a go' presentation.
