Hey guys,
I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself.
I have spent the past 5 years fulfilling my tinkering needs with an imported EP71 Toyota starlet. It has a loooong list of mods including 4e-fte conversion, td04 turbo/custom manifold/3inch split dump and exhaust, welded up 2.5 inch aluminum intercooler piping and suitable cooler, EP82 GT brakes/steering column, strut tower and under body braces, JIC coil overs, stripped and lightened, haltech ecu etc etc. Anyway it was awesome fun but I just let go to far in the search for straight line speed and I have finally come to realize it was not what I really wanted.

I want a nice reliable daily that handles extremely well in the twisties and that I can take to the occasional track day. Enter the AW11

Yesterday I put a deposit on a very neat AW11 N/A (though with hub damage to one of the rear wheels that will need attention) and I will be picking it up this afternoon. Plans for it include leaving the engine completely alone. For a while anyway
I'll be focusing and making the car as neat as possible and tinkering with the handling. I do like to go fast and may eventually end up reducing weight and looking at forced induction but I am going to force myself to stick to the above goals of a street legal daily that is ok for track.

Thanks for listening and looking forward to learning everything I can from you guys.
Dan

P.s. I'll try and get some pics up of the car tonight. May make a thread about the starlet too if anybody is interested.

Just got back from picking it up
Needs work before I can register it but it is pretty tidy and it's a hardtop!

Hey RdS, i'll make sure to get some up for you ;)

Yep it is one and the same. Quite tidy apart from bashed hub and a few tiny rust spots. Will all be fixed over the next month or so. The wheels are definitely on the 'to change soon' list too.

Looks like a solid base to start with!

Thanks for the kind comments :)

Been looking into wheels this arvo and I am really liking the Enkei RPF1. I love them. Just wondering if I was to go down this route would it be better to go with the +41 or the +35 offset? Pretty sure the stockers were +39 yeah and so obviously the heart says +35 as it will look approximately 2.3 times sexier but performance wise could anybody comment on what would be the best choice?

Thanks
Dan

Cubits
The 35's will be fractionally lighter, so go with those. ;)

You won't have a problem with fitment (if they're 15x7"), and the wheel bearings won't feel that difference.

The RPF1's are really quite cool, and very light. :)

Thanks for the quick reply Cubits. Didn't even think about the +35's being lighter :-P
Yeah I am looking at the 15X7's. They are a fantastic and very light wheel for the price (imported).
